Cinder Block Drive!


As you may know, skate camp is coming up April 1 – 5 and we have the good folks from Fickle Skateboards coming down to teach us a thing or two about DIY concrete ramps and skate spots… So we are launching a quick and dirty, concrete and cinder block drive in order to get the materials we will need for our camp quickcreteans.

If you have access to (or would like to dispose off) cinder blocks and concrete bags, send us a note at skate@woodysskatepark.com or give us a call at 912 925-3777 (between 3pm and 7pm) and we can coordinate pickup or drop-offs.

If you have a small business and would like to help, we will make sure to acknowledge your donation and make you a camp sponsor, with your company logo printed on the tshirts we make at camp along with recognition on our website and videos produced during camp.

No amount is too small. If you are a mom or dad (or not) and have just a couple of blocks handy, bring them to the park and we will discount their value off your admission fee… So, pass on the word and lets build something!

Spring Break Skate Camp 2013


When:
  • April 1-5
  • From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (with early drop-off available)
  • $150 Register by March 29th
  • $200 Registration after March 15th
  • Day/partial camp sessions available at $30/day – (still must pre-register)
What:
This is a half day camp for kids 9 – 17yrs with lots of DIY activities, guest presentations and skating time with Fickle Skateboards skate team. Activities will include:
  • Skateboard Maintenance Workshops
  • Trick and Technique Clinic
  • Ramp Building Workshops
  • T-shirt Screening, stickers and stencils workshop
  • VOX prizes and giveaways for best in camp
  • Closing Party / BBQ for parents kids
  • Online photo album and videos of camp session

Space is limited to 15 participants.

  • Pre-Registration is mandatory, no walk-ins will be allowed – sorry!
  • Snack / water will be provided – you must bring bag lunch!
  • Early drop off starts at 8 a.m. / Late pick up available if needed
  • $150 per camper.

(Dog Days of) Summer Camp!

Summer Skate Camps with Underground Workshop!

When:
  • Session 1
    June 21-25 – Pre-register by June 15th
  • Session 2
    June 28 – July 2nd  – Pre-register by June 22
What:
  • This is a week long half day camp featuring local skate company Underground dishing out a workshop with everything you need to know to make a personal deck and shirt with your own design in the first two days… Then, you get to skate it for the rest of the week!

Here is the whole spill from Jeremey (underground king) :

The Underground workshop will be Monday and Tuesday of each camp session: Come on out for a unique, one of a kind, custom skateboard workshop, hosted at Woody’s Skatepark, put on by Underground Skateboards and crew. We will provide a raw deck, a screen, a t-shirt, and all supplies to customize your deck. This is your opportunity to learn how to professionally create your own skateboard. We will cover the basic fundamentals of screen-printing, stenciling, staining, and sealing a deck.
You will have the know-how and bragging rights of making your own pro quality deck. Additionally, all the screens will stay on file with Underground so future purchases will be available for your deck at any time.
Sign up for one of two session, or both if you like!  20 kids max per session, must be 10 years old or older (or get approval from woody’s crew if younger) to attend. Kids are encouraged to start working on a design for their decks prior to coming to workshop.
Design must be one color on a paper no bigger than a standard 8.5 x 11 inches.
